Band asal Inggris, Coldplay, sedang terlibat masalah yang cukup serius yaitu sebuah kasus Plagiarisme. Single milik Coldplay yang berjudul "Viva La Vida" ternyata memiliki kesamaan dengan lagu milik Joe Satriani, "If I Could Fly". Dari pihak Satriani sendiri telah memasukan berkas kasus ini ke pengadilan Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menuntut kerugian dan keuntungan yang dihasilkan oleh lagu tersebut. Sementara dari pihak Coldplay sendiri mengeluarkan pernyataan melalui situs resmi mereka, 9 Desember 2008 lalu, dengan sebuah pernyataan yang berbunyi demikian, "Dengan segala hormat kepada Joe Satriani, sayangnya kami merasa perlu untuk melakukan tanggapan atas tuntutannya, jika ada kesamaan di antara kedua lagu, semua itu sepenuhnya merupakan ketidaksengajaan, bagi kami hal ini sama mengejutkannya. Joe Satriani merupakan musisi hebat, tapi dia tidak menulis atau memiliki pengaruh dalam lagu 'Viva La Vida'. Dengan penuh hormat kami meminta Joe Satriani untuk menerima jaminan kami atas hal ini dan mengharapkan yang terbaik untuk usahanya kedepan"

INFEKSI GRINDCORE
Minggu, 16 November 2008 lalu, Dead Vertical (DV) merayakan peluncuran resmi album terbarunya, ‘Infecting The World’ (Rettrevore Records), di Stardust, gedung Sarinah, Jakarta. Selain tentunya dipanaskan aksi panggung “tuan rumah”, ada pula penampilan band DeadSquad, Hard to Kill, Straight Out, Sarkastic, Burning Flame, Raja Singa, Death Valley, End of Age, Absolute Defience dan Final Attack yang turut menaikkan suhu acara tersebut. ‘Infecting The World’ sendiri merupakan album yang menuai cukup banyak pujian di berbagai media, dan membuat bendera DV semakin berkibar di komunitas metal di Indonesia, khususnya di Jakarta.Lewat album barunya ini, menurut para personel DV, yakni Boy (gitar), Boni (bas) dan Arya (dram), mereka ingin menginfeksi manusia untuk menyadarkan bahwa saat ini tanda-tanda kiamat kecil sudah terlihat.

AVA TANPA GREGET
Konser grup band Angels And Airwaves (AVA) di Jakarta, Selasa malam (9/12) lalu rupanya tidak membawa kesan indah yang membekas. Sepanjang konser, band asal Amerika yang dimotori vokalis/gitaris Tom DeLonge (dulu Blink 182), dramer Atom Willard (eks The Offsprings), Matt Watcher (mantan basis 30 Seconds to Mars) serta gitaris David Kennedy yang pernah bergabung bersama Tom di grup Box Car Racer ini berlangsung membosankan.
Padahal, saat pertama muncul di atas panggung, kehadiran Tom dkk lumayan meledakkan suasana. Sambutan histeris dari sekitar 3000an penonton menggema memenuhi Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta. Namun setelah itu, konser yang digelar oleh JAVA Musikindo tersebut menjadi monoton. Pasalnya, penampilan Angels And Airwaves sendiri – terutama Tom – kurang bisa membangun interaksi dengan penontonnya.
padahal tampilan mereka sangat diharapkan dapat menyedot para fans AVA utuk ikut terhanyut dalam music punk rock yang rada-rada soal percintaan ni, nyata malah membosankan, karena interaksi dari si tom dan personil lainx yang kurang kepada penonton sendiri, sangat disayangkan dah....,
masalhnya music AVA itu lumayan keren, pakai fx electric2 gitu, trus fx suara yang mendawai-dawai..., jarang sih ada music yang kaya gitu...., tapi nyatanya malah tak bisa memuaskan fans-fans AVA di indonesia..., sabar ja dah buat AVA, n buat fansx AVA

Beyoncé - I Am…Sasha Fierce
In non-Deluxe Edition form, Beyoncé’s third solo studio album is as concise as 2006’s B’day, but it is divided into two discs as a way to emphasize the singer’s distinct personalities. It’s a gimmick, of course — a flimsy one. Revealed through interviews in 2005, Sasha was said to be Beyoncé’s “stage persona,” an embodiment of the outgoing, aggressive, on-stage Beyoncé that doesn’t necessarily represent the real Beyoncé. Sasha now has a last name (possibly picked up from Tyra Banks, who maybe took a cue from Klymaxx), and is granted half an album (the second disc) to express herself. These five songs, when compared to the majority of B’day, are actually less fun, less impulsive, and yes, less fierce. “Diva,” a variation on Lil Wayne’s “A Milli,” is the only track that could go toe to toe with the likes of B’day’s “Freakum Dress” or “Ring the Alarm,” at least in terms of audacity. At the other end is “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” a dire “Get Me Bodied” retread. Otherwise, the Sasha Fierce half is full of decent, if easily forgettable, upbeat pop. If placed within the context of an album without a packaging ploy, there’d be little evidence that Beyoncé is making a radical progression or being any more bold than before. It would, if anything, be notable as the least R&B-oriented batch of songs she has made — that is, if it wasn’t for the I Am half, essentially a small set of adult contemporary ballads. Acoustic guitars, pianos, strings, contemplative soul searching, and grand sweeping gestures fill it out, with more roots in ’70s soft rock than soul. Beyoncé feels each line to the fullest extent, which almost rescues the set’s staidness. “If I Were a Boy,” while sounding like the watery backdrop for a singing competition finale, turns out to be the album’s standout, both for its lyrics and Beyoncé’s tormented performance. It could have been the song that broke an unfairly neglected adult-R&B singer like Heather Headley into the mainstream, and don’t be surprised if a country artist nabs a CMA Award by covering it.

Latihlah teknik bermain gitar dengan tempo yang pelan terlebih dahulu, setelah itu baru tingkatkan temponya secara bertahap. Dengan latihan yang bertempo lambat dan akurat, maka kecepatannya dengan sendirinya akan berkembang.
Nah, kenapa kita selalu dianjurkan untuk memulai setiap teknik dengan tempo yang pelan terlebih dahulu? Ini jawabannya: Saat otot kita mulai mengenali pola dan gerakan pada teknik yang spesifik yang kita mainkan/latih di gitar, maka pada saat itu pula otak kita melakukan proses perekaman. “Practice makes perfect” (berlatih membuatnya sempurna) adalah kalimat yang hampir benar. Tapi kalimat yang perlu kamu hayati benar-benar mungkin ini: “Practice makes permanent” (berlatih membuatnya permanen/tetap).
